Working to Ensure Equity in Education for All Children
Every child’s educational journey is unique and deserves a personalized approach. My holistic, equity-driven framework goes beyond traditional assessment methods and accounts for the complex interplay of individual, environmental, and sociocultural factors that shape a child’s learning experience.
My services aim to uncover ways to celebrate your child’s unique gifts and talents, focusing on their strengths rather than viewing them through a deficit-based lens.
Comprehensive psychoeducational assessments are all about getting to know your child better. I’ll dig deep to understand how they learn, what their strengths are, and where they might need a little extra support.
Through various evaluations—like cognitive tests and academic skill assessments—I’ll paint a clear picture of your child’s abilities and challenges so you can make informed decisions about how best to help them succeed.
Navigating the IEP process can be challenging, but I’m here to help. My IEP Consultation service offers expert guidance to ensure your child receives the support they need to thrive. I review evaluations and IEPs, clarify goals, and provide strategies to help you advocate confidently. With a focus on collaboration and clear communication, we work to create a plan that empowers you and supports your child’s success.
Executive function coaching is designed to help your child build essential skills like organization, time management, and focus.
Over the course of 8-10 weeks, we’ll work together to set personalized goals and develop practical strategies that fit their lifestyle. Regular check-ins will keep them on track, and before you know it, they’ll be feeling more confident and capable of managing their schoolwork and daily tasks.
IQ assessments are designed to measure your child’s cognitive abilities and provide insights into their intellectual strengths.
One or two standardized tests are administered to determine their IQ score, analyze the results, and discuss how these findings relate to their learning experience. This assessment can be particularly helpful for identifying giftedness or understanding learning challenges.
If you want a second opinion after a school’s evaluation, you have the right to request an Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE). An IEE is a comprehensive, unbiased assessment completed by an outside professional, and the district covers the cost.
Through the IEE process, I take the time to build a full picture of your child’s learning profile by reviewing prior evaluations, conducting my own assessments, and considering social, cultural, and environmental factors that may affect their experience.
My goal is to provide clarity and confidence, offering clear recommendations and working collaboratively with you and the school team so the results lead to meaningful support for your child’s growth and success.
